Need, Love, and Telos Confusion

Need, love, and telos get confused when the relationship is directed toward self-soothing, rescue, status, or relief while still being named as love.

Love is one of the easiest words to use imprecisely.

Validation can masquerade as devotion. Rescue can masquerade as care. Possession can masquerade as commitment. Loneliness relief can masquerade as compatibility.

Need is powerful. It gives the relationship a strong emotional center. That center can make the bond feel fated, obvious, or unquestionable even while it is being directed toward self-soothing rather than mutual good.

Discernment asks what this relationship is actually serving over time.

Without a telos page, the Relationships cluster would remain too procedural.
